The hamlet of Beaworthy has been inhabited for at least a thousand years – it can be found in the Domesday Book (1086). The village church – which is next door – dates from the 11th century. There is a profusion of flowers and wildlife in the surrounding countryside and the area is home to a wonderful array of nesting birds. When weather permits, the night sky over Beaworthy is a fantastic sight. With little light pollution, the Milky Way shines brightly.
